The 'Dirty Looks' Collection
The 'Dirty Looks' Collection is a series of sculptures created by artist, Rebecca Gee. Rebecca Gee is a Young artist living in the North West of England. This collection is a personal reaction to our collection here at the Museum of Dirty Looks, and focusses on particular areas of the face.
A quote from Gee..
" Coming into the Museum of Dirty Looks, I felt at home straight away. Dirty looks are something that come naturally
to me, so to create artwork on the topic was a joy. With such an array of portraits on display, I decided to focus on
specific parts of faces that tell a story on their own, whether that be the shape of the brow, or the orientation of an
eye, giving 'Side Eye'. I believe the important aspect we need to remember through all of this is that 'Resting Bitch
Faces' should not be a negative label solely put onto women. A resting bitch face is simply a relaxed face, which on
a woman means they are a 'bitch', however on a man, it is just a relaxed face. "
